Tecmo Inc. By: Bubblun Tecmo was one of the premier developers of NES games. Their action titles like the Ninja Gaiden series and Rygar are still in high demand and appreciated by many. Sports titles like the Tecmo Bowl games were very popular during the NES days and were notable for their depth compared to other games of the time. Finally, Temco had a knack for making excellent and innovative puzzle games like Solomon's Key and Fire 'N Ice with a great challenge level. Tecmo's NES titles include: Bad News Baseball Fire 'N Ice Mighty Bomb Jack Ninja Gaiden 1 Ninja Gaiden 2 Ninja Gaiden 3 Rygar Solomon's Key Star Force Tecmo Baseball Tecmo Basketball Tecmo Bowl Tecmo Cup Soccer Tecmo Super Bowl Tecmo World Wrestling Other Notables: Tecmo had a reputation for not being the best with the English language when it came to their translations. Large portions of the Mighty Bomb Jack manual are completely unintelligible "Engrish", and therefore hilarious. Tecmo was also good at creating new genres as seen in their NES game Tecmo Cup Soccer. If you haven't played it before, you will be shocked to find it is a soccer-RPG, and even more amazingly it still manages to be fun. Status: Still in business, and thriving due to their Dead Or Alive 2 fighting game on multiple platforms. A new Ninja Gaiden game is in the works. Also, they still do not hesitate to release quirky titles here and there. Their horse racing simulator Gallop Racer was released on the PlayStation to a largely unreceptive American audience. Best Titles: The Ninja Gaiden series (especially part 1) will always be one of my favorites. I also consider Bad News Baseball the best baseball game on the NES due to its ability to not take itself too seriously (and its "Mr. T" cameo). Puzzle titles like Mighty Bomb Jack, Solomon's Key, and its sequel, Fire 'N Ice have given me hours of playtime. Popularity of Games: High Rarity of Games: Average, with Fire 'N Ice the exception. Overall Rating: A- Website: http://www.tecmoinc.com Current Motto: "100% Games"
